Gnome Island Nature Reserve Now 🌼

Salford has developed rapidly in the last decade, with thriving neighbourhoods across the city.

But so little effort’s been put into creating and sustaining natural green spaces by Salford City Council to foster local biodiversity. More quality nature reserves that enable wildlife and wildflowers to thrive have proven community benefits – like better mental health and well-being, cleaner air, less litter, and doing our bit for climate change.

A greener Salford means a healthier Salford for all residents to live, work, and make a sustainable home in our city. Please help us make this a reality.

To Salford City Council: Turn Gnome Island into a Nature Reserve

The Salford Liberal Democrats are campaigning for Salford City Council to make the area around ‘Gnome Island’ into a local nature reserve, so that we can protect the bird species that naturally congregate there and harness extra resources to keep it clear of litter.
