E-bikes are flying through pedestrian short-cuts in Ordsall and other residential areas, putting people at risk, especially the elderly, and creating anti-social behaviour.

The Salford Liberal Democrats are calling on Salford City Council to take action by installing pedestrian chicanes—barriers that slow down e-bikes—at the middle or ends of short-cuts where residents or the police have highlighted safety concerns.

The council has taken similar action in the past to prevent cars from using estate short-cuts and has installed chicanes in some pedestrian walkways. Now residents want these safety measures extended to other pathways to make our streets safe again.

We are urging the council to act now. Sign the petition to demand safer pedestrian walkways in Salford.
