Safer Streets for a Safer Salford 👮🏿

Anti-social behaviour, street racing, and joy-riding have been blighting Salford Quays for years. Yet responses so far from the City Council to address these disturbances have been all words and little action.

The Liberal Democrats have been closely engaging residents for the past year on how to tackle reckless driving in the Quays. We want your input into our community’s protection and upkeep.

No one should ever feel unsafe in their neighbourhoods. Traffic-calming measures currently in place aren’t fully addressing anti-social driving issues in Salford Quays. Where are the six additional police officers recruited in the last year to specifically curb joy-riding?

The Liberal Democrats believe the Quays deserve better than the Council’s present response. We can’t rely on speeding cameras or Media City security guards. We need better traffic-calming measures, and the Liberal Democrats will keep fighting for their long-overdue delivery.

We will continue to engage the Greater Manchester Police and British Transport Police, hold the Council to account, and involve residents in delivering better outcomes for safer streets.
